Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority was founded at the University of Binghampton in Binghampton, New York in 1995. Ever since then, it has grown to become the fast- growing Asian-American interest sorority in the United States, with more than 2,000 sisters and 27 chapters and colonies! To date, Kappa's rich 15 years of history has provided sisters nationwide with unbreakable sisterhood, social and career networking, as well as leadership opportunities.

The Nu Chapter was founded in 2002 as the first Kappa Phi Lambda Chapter in the Midwest Region and was formed to represent the voices of Asian American women on campus. Since then, the Nu Chapter has committed itself to various activities and philanthropies on- and off-campus, and is an active member on the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC).
